The Umpires did put down their counters and the black and whites and played in a T20 cricket match at Brereton Cricket Club, Whit Monday 20th May 2024. Team Best won the toss and invited Team Jones to bat. Captain Jones went in the 2nd over and after 10 overs the score was 89 for 5 in 10 overs with Ian Drakes scoring 45 runs which was the top score of the innings. Other good knocks came from Kevon Clarke 32, Ian Boyce 26 n.o and Marty Griffith 23. Team Jones ended on 170 - 9 in 20 overs. Outstanding spell of bowling came from Orion "Bounce" Seale with 5 - 46 supporting him was Alex Bellamy with 2 - 41. After what looked like a shaky start losing openers Dwayne Rudder and Raymond Taitt, captain Best came and steadied the ship with a top score of 77 runs supported by man of the match Orion Seale 34 n.o easing off the 170 in 15 overs for the loss of 6 wickets.
